Welcome

Message from Adele Harrison our President:

Our Southwest Riverside County Republican Headquarters is Open! We had a huge crowd - standing room only - on Saturday, June 19, for our opening at 28120 Jefferson Ave, Suite 205/206. Thanks so much to all of you who cleaned, donated, set up, spoke and attended. Rebecca Weersing donated a brand new refrigerator! MTRA is funding Verizon internet service and providing a cash register. Special thanks to Tom and Ralph for the flags and all your help and Rick for the flags and signs, Laura for balloons and lockbox and Janet for a new toilet seat! We had a fantastic line up of speakers: Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries, Murrieta Councilman Rick Gibbs and Randon Lane, City Planning Commissioner and Candidate for City Council Alan Long, Ryan Mahoney from Mary Bono-Mack's office, our own Bridget Blanton and to top that off, Senator Dennis Hollingsworth! All of our speakers spoke on the importance of GOP Unity to elect Republicans in November.

Senator Hollingsworth explained how important it was to elect Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee to the vacated Senate seat in the June 22 election and asked for volunteers to do calling. Losing that seat to the Dems would almost certainly result in giving them a 2/3 majority, allowing unfettered tax increases and no veto power for Meg when she becomes Governor. Randon Lane, representing Meg Whitman, was able to bring back 20 cell phones, and Tom Rogers provided instruction in using call sheets and the script. Volunteers called almost 700 on Saturday and many more on Monday and Tuesday to get out the vote.

I will be out of the office for a couple of weeks spending time with my daughter and grandchildren from Dubai, leaving the organization of the office to Marjorie Drayton, Jackie Raspler, Bridget Blanton and all of you. Our hours in the beginning will only be from 2-6. Please do go in, sign up and volunteer! .

Blessings to you all,

Adele Harrison
