Welcome
| March
Message from Gladys Ernst our President:
Our Membership brunch, at the beautiful
home of Sally Myers, was a great success. The setting was
perfect, as was the weather and the food. Thank all of our
members who brought so many delicious dishes. And weren't
the Easter Baskets beautiful! |

There were many guests, so
lets encourage them to join. Our speaker, Lores Rizkalla,
was excellent and so well received. She is a radio talk show
host on KLLA AM 870.
We will be collecting items for the "Wish List", for the
Troop Deployment/Arrival Center at March Air Force Base ,
again this month - especially peanut butter and jelly. The
items that Marjorie delivered last month where so well
received and so needed; we feel compelled to continue to
help.
The Southern Division Meeting will be held, Wednesday, April
2, at Pomona Valley Mining Co. There will be a Membership
workshop and Jesse Lee Peterson will be the afternoon
speaker.
If you can join us, please call me - we will car pool.
The Riverside County Meeting will be Monday, April 14- with
a different venue. We will meet at the Voters Registration
Office, in Riverside and have a tour lead by Barbara
Dunmore, Riverside County Registrar of Voters. Next stop
will be the Riverside County Republican Party Headquarters,
where we will have lunch, served by the Riverside County
Republican Party. Our meeting will have even more campaign
information.
Advocacy, this year will be held April 21 and 22, and
conflicts with our General Meeting on the 21st. Our 1st Vice
President, Adele Harrison, will preside. I'll miss seeing
you all, but we have 2 outstanding students attending the
Advocacy program, in Sacramento, and of course, they cannot
go alone.
I have attended a couple of the "Temecula Reads" events, as
have other members. They have excellent presentations, there
is something for everyone. The first of the series featured
five of the students who participated in the "Freedom Riders
Diaries". It was heart warming as well as heart breaking.
All the way home I thanked my parents for the values,
traditions and opportunities they provided for me and my 5
siblings.
Gladys Ernst
