Welcome

Message from Adele Harrison our President:

"The two most beautiful sounds in the world: A child laughing and a Democrat conceding..." I love this quote Bridget sent me! With the election of Scott Brown to Ted Kennedy's seat in the bluest of states, we have a chance to stop the horrendous Government take-over of health care and hopefully go on to win many seats for Republicans in 2010. Get involved and help us!

Wow! Even with the rain we had 119 people come to our meeting at Wilson Creek on Tuesday, January 19th, many of whom we hadn't ever seen before or hadn't seen in a long time. It was wonderful! Welcome to all of you and especially our new members! Attendees said the food was delicious and the speaker was fabulous. Bob Hamer was not only informative and fascinating but really funny!

We have been discussing some ways to streamline and improve our meetings. Shortening reports from Board and Chair members, more ladies checking people in, numbering tables and having all guests and then new members stand, to name a few. As we grow we need to become more efficient. Please let us know if you are interested in helping out in anyway.

On February 3rd we will be carpooling to Pomona Valley Mining Company to the bimonthly meeting of CFRW Southern Division. Join us for a delicious lunch and terrific speakers, Carly Fiorina, running for Barbara Boxer's seat, and the always entertaining Mason Weaver. Please let me know right away if you can attend. Also in February MTRA will be meeting at 6:00 on Friday, Feb 5th, at Temeku Hills with speaker talk show host John Ziegler. MERA will be meeting on February 19th at 6:00 at Menifee Lakes Country Club. James O'Keefe will be their speaker, who with Hannah Giles exposed Acorn.

Damon Dunn will be the speaker at our next meeting on Tuesday, February 16th, at Wilson Creek Winery. Hopefully, you already read his amazing bio on the front page. His story is very much like Michael Ohr in the movie Blind Side. Damon was actually mentored by Condolisa Rice at Standford University. Check-in is at 10:30 and the cost for lunch is $17. Please do make your reservation with Marjorie (951-676-8552 or bdrayton@roadrunner.com) by Friday, February 12th. Also, if you have not renewed your membership or want to become a member, be sure to send your check to Jane Lauhon ASAP. You can use the application form in this newsletter or you can also find applications on our website.
Remember, just going to meetings or joining clubs doesn't really change things. We all need to be out there registering and informing citizens, getting petitions signed, calling and writing your legislators, going to Tea Parties (Feb 27th) and, of course, getting out the vote! Call Bridget, Ramona, Brigitte or Ralph and get involved!

Many thanks and blessings,

Adele Harrison
